An unattended suitcase was found at the east entrance of McHenry County Government Center today.
February 14, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a suspicious suitcase was located at the east public entrance of the McHenry County Government Center. After reviewing security footage, a female white, driving a white GMC truck was observed removing the suitcase from her truck and placing it at the east entrance. The immediate area was secured, and the building was evacuated.
Kane County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was called to assist with the suspicious suitcase. Upon inspection of the suitcase, it was deemed safe. The Government Center was evacuated for approximately two hours and the correctional facility was put on lock down due to this incident.
