Completion of the Snowmobile Safety Course is required for all Illinois residents aged 12 – 16, or those without a valid driver’s license, who wish to drive a snowmobile in the state of Illinois.
The course includes instruction on safe operation, rules of the road, snowmobile law, first aid, proper riding techniques and related topics that will help the snowmobiler operate his/her vehicle safely.
Class dates for the 2025 – 2026 season are November 29, December 20, and January 17, 2026.
Classes are held at 8:00 a.m. in the Large Classroom of McHenry County Sheriff’s Office; 2200 N. Seminary Road, Woodstock, IL. Enter the Courthouse via the East Entrance by the flag pole.
