A 35-year-old Woodstock man was seriously injured following a single-vehicle crash in the 10900 block of Foster Road in unincorporated Huntley.
On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 3:56 p.m., members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Huntley Fire Protection District, and Huntley Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash on Foster Road east of Illinois Route 47.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2022 Jeep Wrangler was traveling westbound on Foster Road when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and exited the roadway to the north. The vehicle struck several trees and rolled over. The male driver, who was the sole occupant, was ejected from the vehicle and came to rest in the roadway.
The driver was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley and was later airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he is listed in critical condition.
The airbags in the Jeep deployed, and there is no indication that the driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Speed, alcohol, and drugs are believed to be factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit.
