On Tuesday, January 11, at approximately 1:22 a.m. two McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in an officer-involved shooting in the 200 block of Manchester Lane in Port Barrington.
A female victim, shot by the suspect, was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Both deputies were uninjured. The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene.
Deputies involved have 1 year and 5.5 years of service at McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. In accordance with department policy, both deputies have been placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation by an external entity.
McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team (MIAT) will be handling the investigation.
