McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Applies for Reaccreditation from The Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program

A team of assessors from Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ILEAP) will arrive Tuesday, March 11, 2025, to examine all aspects of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office’s policy and procedures, management, operations and support services, Sheriff Robb Tadelman announced today. McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is working to become reaccredited with ILEAP through this process.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public phone in session on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. They may do so by calling (815) 334-4958. Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s compliance with ILEAP Standards. A copy of the standards is available for review at the ILEAP section of the Illinois Chiefs website www.ilchiefs.org

Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office’s ability to comply with the standards for reaccreditation are requested to write the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, ATTN: ILEAP Assessors, 2200 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, Illinois 60098. Individuals may also submit comments via email at sheriff@mchenrycountyil.gov please provide ATTN: ILEAP Assessors in the subject line.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office ILEAP Accreditation Director is Chief Jeff Hamer. He has assigned the assessment team composed of law enforcement professionals from out-of-county agencies to review written materials, conduct interviews, and visit offices and other locations where compliance can be witnessed.

Once the ILEAP Assessors complete their review of the agency, they will report back to the ILEAP Committee Chair who reviews and distributes the report to the Council which will then decide if the agency is to be granted reaccreditation status. The reaccreditation process, under the direction of Sheriff Robb Tadelman, is managed by Jodi Croner Accreditation Manager.
