A Belvidere man was pronounced dead after a crash on Kishwaukee Valley Road near Woodstock earlier this morning.
At approximately 5:52 a.m., McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Woodstock Fire & Rescue District were dispatched to the 16500 block of Kishwaukee Valley Road, west of Hughes Road, in unincorporated Woodstock for a two-vehicle crash.
A 2011 Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound on Kishwaukee Valley Road when it crossed over the centerline for unknown reasons. The Ram was then struck by a westbound 2023 Mack truck, coming to rest in the ditch. The driver and sole occupant of the Ram, a 50-year-old Belvidere man was pronounced dead on scene. The driver and sole occupant of the semi was not injured.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
