Press Release- COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION APPLIES FOR REACCREDITATION

WOODSTOCK, ILLINOIS- A team of assessors from the Commission on
Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will
arrive Monday, July 29, 2019 to examine all aspects of the McHenry
County Sheriff's Office's Communications Division policy and
procedures, management, operations and support services. The
McHenry County Sheriff's Office Communications Division is working
to continue its status through this first reaccreditation
process.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and
members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public
call in session on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 beginning at 1:00
P.M. until 3:00 P.M.
Comments will be taken during those hours by the members of the
Assessment Team by calling (815) 334-4958.
Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must
address the agency's compliance with CALEA Standards. A copy
of the standards will be available for review at the McHenry County
Sheriff's Office, 2200 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, Illinois.

Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the
McHenry County Sheriff's Office Communication Division's ability to
comply with the standards for accreditation are requested to write
the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc. (CALEA),
13575 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 320, Gainesville, Virginia,
20155. The McHenry County Sheriff's Office CALEA
Accreditation Program Manager is Christy Goddard. She has
assigned the assessment team composed of law enforcement
professionals from out-of-state agencies to review written
materials, conduct interviews and visit offices and other locations
where compliance can be witnessed.
Once the CALEA Assessors complete their review of the
agency, they will report back to the full Commission, which will
then decide if the agency is to be granted reaccredited
status. The accreditation process, under the direction of
Sheriff Bill Prim is managed by Carolyn Decman, Communications
CALEA Manager.
